Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka is considered the prime accounting body of the discipline in Sri Lanka. It brags the membership base of 7,000 and a student base of 44,000. The institute produces accounting professionals to meet the national and international requirements. CA is a recognized qualification for Government and Private sector designations including Chairman, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Financial Director, Finance Controller, Finance Manager, Accountant etc. Further, CA qualified members with practising certificate can start their own auditing, accounts and taxation practices which is a unique feature in CA qualification. Chartered Accountancy examination includes 03 exit routes. After completing the Executive level and completing the training requirements CBA status can be obtained. CBA is a recognized for Accounts executive jobs. After completing the Business level and completing the training requirements CSBA status can be obtained. CSBA is a recognized for Business Accountant jobs. Once CA is completed ACA title is awarded and jobs relevant to corporate level is available in both private and public sector locally and abroad. Recently NARIC International Agency in United Kingdom rated ACA as an equivalent qualification with Master in Business Administration MBA, this reflect the higher standard maintained at CA.
